It is needless to point out the importance of the eye. It is one of the most vital parts of the body. We need our eyes to see what our other senses feel or perceive; to see what we smell, who we hear, what we eat, where we go, everything going around us… Therefore, it is very key that proper care is taken when it involves the eye, regular eye checks should be done. Routine eye tests are important because during an eye test, some early signs of eye conditions can be detected before the symptoms become obvious – many of which can be treated if found early enough.
This is why Ugo’s Touch of Life Foundation (U-TOLF) has included free eye interventions in her many health initiatives in the state.
– Free Eye Screening.
– Provision of Free Eye Medication.
– Provision of free Eye Glasses.
This eye screening helps to detect and prevent eye diseases and even other diseases which may occur as a result of the eye problem.
In Enugu state, U-TOLF goes around to different local governments to provide free medical interventions during which we carry out eye tests and treatments.
For Instance, during the U-TOLF medical interventions held usually at Okpara Square on the 9th day of every month, eye checks are carried out regularly. As at November 2016, about 300 people have received free eye screening and treatment from this monthly event and other medical outreaches in rural communities in the state.
U-TOLF has committed to this mission of promoting healthy eye sight and general health of the people and will continue these outreaches till as many lives are improved in Enugu State.
