Breast Cancer Awareness

According to the World Cancer Research Fund, Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, with nearly 1.7 million new cases diagnosed in 2012 (second most common cancer overall). This represents about 12% of all new cancer cases and 25% of all cancers in women.
This has therefore made it imperative for serious steps to be taken in other to reduce this rate and if possible, avert the trend. U-TOLF has therefore taken up this mission, in addition to her other interventions of touching the lives of the people.
U-TOLF carries out awareness of breast cancer at different outreaches done in the state while carrying out other campaigns or missions. We have been able to reach over 2000 women from all the 17 local governments in the State, educating them about the dangers of breast cancer, how to detect the signs and how to perform breast self-examination.
U-TOLF continues to create this awareness and perform screening at different outreaches carried out at various local governments and during other U-TOLF programs in in Enugu State, Nigeria, in other reach as many people as possible so as to reduce the rate of breast cancer morbidity, and consequently touch lives.
